An experience which had taught me a lot about my school and that BxxxH too!

I am going to write out my feelings. A happening which had made my blood boils.

Today morning, most of us in the class complained about one thing. The book that we are asked to buy. Well, in fact, we are being ordered to buy it. That exercise books cost us RM16. Since our teacher said that it is mandatory for all of us to buy it, and she is going to use it during the lesson, so we can't object it. We asked the teacher what kind of book would that be, she say nothing. Throughout the process we are not shown the sample of the book, or being told about the content of the book.

Yesterday, finally I've got my hand on the book. There are two of it, one is with a green cover, another one is with yellow cover. I was quite satisfied with the quality of the paper that they use. Total number of pages of both of the books are 81 pages. Well, I was quite shocked when I first saw the book. Because I was expecting more, eg. thicker book, book with colourful cover. Fine. Then I look at the content of the book. once I open up the book, I can feel that my blood is boiling, like a magma waiting to come out from the bottom of the volcano. Water in my bottle starts to evaporate as I touched it. The volcano is about to erupt.

I was so shock when the content of the book turns out to be the questions of the past STPM exams, starting from the year 1998 until last year, 2008. How coincidentally, all of my classmates, including me, already have a copy of past year questions from the year of 1987 until 2008, which only costs us not more than Rm6.50. We pay RM6++, we have questions of 21 years. Now, we pay RM16, and we have only questions of 10 years, more over, we already have those questions. How ridiculous it is!!! See the differences?

So, we complained to the teacher. Previously I still think that she is a good teacher, not good in teaching, but at least she has the passion. Now, she had spoils her own image, she is nothing but just merely a BITCH to me! As we expected, she is evading from the questions that we asked her. She told us not to be so calculative, it is just RM16 only. For God sake! I can't believe that these words can come out from her mouth, I really can't believe in what I heard. You are able to earn money yourself, you can spend the money in whatever way that you like, I don't care. But please don't forget, we are student, we are unemployed, we still have to rely on our parents. The money are from our parents, and where do our parents got the money? From their hard work. These money are hard earned money, and we are not going to spend it on rubbish! I couldn't imagine that you would say such word.

During the argument, she is trying to escape from the questions. Very obvious, she refused to be impossible of what she had done. She has no idea of how to give us an explanation which can cool us down, so she kept on changing topic. But, we kept on sticking to the topic. While the argument is still hot, I threw her a question. "Have you seen this book before? Before you asked us to buy it?" Guess what is her answer. She said "No." I was like "WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then I continued. "Then don't you think that it is risky to ask the students to buy something which you had never seen or use before?" Then she bla bla bla, saying what even if she knew that the book is about past year questions, she will ask the students to buy it too. Then, the class burst into dicussion again. Apparently everyone is not satisfied with her already, including me myself. She also added that the word "risky" is innapropriate and rude to teacher. Again, that word came to my mind. WTF! You are saying that I am rude? Hello? Do you know what you are talking? You are asking your student spend the money on buying something which you never seen it or use it before. And you said all of us MUST buy the books. You are using the students as experiments! You are treating us like a white mice in the laboratory whom is waiting for dissection. Now, the trouble emerged, and yet you can't provide us an proper explanation, who is rude here? You are not respecting us and I am not going to respect you also. You don't deserve it!

This situation, again, has showed me that student rights are totally discriminated in this school. Obviously it is your fault, and now it has became our fault. Teacher has the say on everything, while we, as students, have to follow what ever shit they said.

I don't mind now if the book can't be returned and the money can't be refund. But, what I am truly unhappy about is the teacher's attitude. If you are going to ask your student to buy something, please do some research before it. It is very immoral, you know?

Between, the teacher also said that if we have any unsatisfaction, you may bring it on to the school principal. I know the school very well. If you insists on fighting for student rights, the teachers might sees you as school version Osama. There is no students' rights in the school. Even a black can be said as white, if they want to.

So dark the con of my school...

Recent decision made by the Ministry of Education

I get my copy of newspaper on Thursday morning. I was sitting in the class after coming back from the canteen. The newspaper was in front of me. I look at the headline to check out what is the latest news going around in the country recently.

"WTF!" This word came out of my mouth accidentally as I read the headline. The Ministry of Education has again decided to change the language used to teach Mathematics and Science subjects. Back to 7 years ago, they have made a shocking decision that all Mathematics and Science subjects are to be taught in English. This changes is applied to both primary and secondary school. The rational behind that action, according to them, in university, Maths and Science subjects are taught in English. So if we learn Maths and Science subjects in English while we were in the primary and secondary school, it will be easier for us when we proceed to university. I was partially agree with that decision.

Why am I partially agree with that decision? Simple. In my opinion, in fact I believe would have the same feeling as mine, that primary pupils should be taught in their mother tongue for both Maths and Science subjects. It is not a problem for a secondary school students to study Maths and Science subjects in English, in my opinion.

After many had complained that the teaching of Maths and Science subjects in English for primary school is irrelevant, the Ministry had finally show us some light by reconsidering it again. And finally it is back to normal. However, one thing that I found ridiculous the most is that why they are changing the language used in secondary school as well?RIDICULOUS! NONSENSE! 7 years ago, they said it is for the sake of the students so that they can do better in the university. What about now? Plus, 7 years ago, they said it is one of the way to improve the standard of English among students. Now? Will the increase in number of English teacher helps? I don't think so. The situation now is, we have to spend another big sum of money in order to change the current education syllabus. The text book, teacher might have to attend training again. More over, they are going to increase the number of English teacher. So this means that another sum of money is going to be spent on the cost of trainings, allowance and so on. The complains is about the primary school, why disturb the secondary school? What's the point of doing so? 7 years ago, when the Ministry decided that English is to be used in the teaching of Mathematics and Science subjects, many teachers have to attend numerous trainings. How much money is spend on it? And now they are going to change it AGAIN! Please, do appreciate taxpayers' money. Those money are not earned easily.

For God sake. The standard of education is going down the slope, and now it is falling down the bottomless cliff...
