Beauty or inner beauty?

Previously, before I took my MUET exam, my teacher had given me quite a number of speaking practice. Of course, we were given topic to talk about. One of the topic, is also the topic that I am going to talk here. Is beauty more important or inner beauty? Some says beauty is more important, some says inner beauty is more important. Undeniable, we have gone through process of argument, and debate. Majority goes for inner beauty.

Here is how the argument goes. Well, some says that beauty is more important, because if you have the beauty, you can be superstar, singer, model and etc. You can earn a lot of money. Yes, they got a point. Look at the singer nowadays, they have beauty that ordinary people don't have. But, nowadays, beauty is a common thing. We have plastic surgery, which can transform an ugly duck into a white snowy swan.

Meanwhile, on the other side, they are going for inner beauty. They think that inner beauty is more important than beauty. Take the Miss Universe as an example. They have beauty, the have good body, heart-melting smile, but, why do they still have to undergo a lot of test which will reflect their thinking, their personality? The point is, they are looking for inner beauty. At the end of the contest, you may found that the champion may not be the prettiest, but she is the one who possesses the best personality among the others. Another example, when you are going for an interview, the way you act, the way you answer the questions will determine your fate. Means whether will you be employed or not. Of course, the decision made by the interviewers might very subjective, but, who wants person that looks good but can't work well with the others?

This is how it goes. At the mean time, I would like to know what do you all think about this. Please do feel free to leave your comment here. I appreciate it very much.

Lastly, I would like to appologize for the grammar mistake that I've made also spelling error, if there is any. Thank you.

Health concious

Recently, I strongly believe that the world is stunned by the emergence of the not yet but soon to be terrifying H1N1 virus, which is known as the pig flu last time, but know it is also known as the swine flu now. Most part of the world is now being affected by this virus, yet it is not so serious compared to the SARS.

Lately, the virus had spread to my area. Many students in my area had been affected by this annoying virus. In fact, there are rumours saying that there are 2 students of my school were infected by this H1N1 flu. Anyway, I won't take that as a truth as there weren't any factual prove. Even if there is, I bet the headmaster won't order the school for a close down for one week. Want to bet? Whether there is or not people infected with the H1N1 flu, one wise advice for all of you is that, kindly get yourself a mask. A satisfying mask would cost you about Rm0.80 each. If you are looking for a better one, you may go for the RM8 each, or take the oxygen tank.

I wore a mask to school one day, and guess what a friend of mine said? He said it won't be so easy for us to get it. Yet he said prevention is better than cure. Point taken. Prevention is in fact better than cure. It is not easy for you to get infected with H1N1, but you will never know that just in case, you were the "lucky" one to get it. When I was asking my classmates whether they want to wear mask to school or not, they turn a cold shoulder on me. Their response was, well, can't be considered as disappointing as they have the right to make their own decision, they are not going to wear, unless the school has made it a compulsory to wear a mask to school.

This attitude, has taught me a lesson. Yes, this virus is not as fearsome as SARS, yet we can't look down at it. There are a lot of people who died of this so-called pig flu, in other word, swine flu. Last time when there was the SARS outbreak, many of people out there was wearing mask, of course not in my area because there isn't any case at my area. So I was one of them who do not wear a mask when going out. One of the reason is that, I believe I will not be the lucky one to be selected to bear this special prize. But, I am different now. I am looking at the consequence, just in case I am the "lucky" one. Who knows? When I mentioned about wearing a mask to school, they said it is not necessary. But the problem now is, there are more and more people infected by this virus, and worst though, it is very near with us. Yet, they still don't want to take any action against it. Somehow I was hoping if they will be given a lesson during the H1N1 outbreak period.

Prevention is better than cure. Think of the consequences. You will not be able to go to school. You will miss out a lot of lesson ad etc etc. Spend some on the mask and it may spare you from thousands of problems.

Yours sincerely...

An experience which had taught me a lot about my school and that BxxxH too!

I am going to write out my feelings. A happening which had made my blood boils.

Today morning, most of us in the class complained about one thing. The book that we are asked to buy. Well, in fact, we are being ordered to buy it. That exercise books cost us RM16. Since our teacher said that it is mandatory for all of us to buy it, and she is going to use it during the lesson, so we can't object it. We asked the teacher what kind of book would that be, she say nothing. Throughout the process we are not shown the sample of the book, or being told about the content of the book.

Yesterday, finally I've got my hand on the book. There are two of it, one is with a green cover, another one is with yellow cover. I was quite satisfied with the quality of the paper that they use. Total number of pages of both of the books are 81 pages. Well, I was quite shocked when I first saw the book. Because I was expecting more, eg. thicker book, book with colourful cover. Fine. Then I look at the content of the book. once I open up the book, I can feel that my blood is boiling, like a magma waiting to come out from the bottom of the volcano. Water in my bottle starts to evaporate as I touched it. The volcano is about to erupt.

I was so shock when the content of the book turns out to be the questions of the past STPM exams, starting from the year 1998 until last year, 2008. How coincidentally, all of my classmates, including me, already have a copy of past year questions from the year of 1987 until 2008, which only costs us not more than Rm6.50. We pay RM6++, we have questions of 21 years. Now, we pay RM16, and we have only questions of 10 years, more over, we already have those questions. How ridiculous it is!!! See the differences?

So, we complained to the teacher. Previously I still think that she is a good teacher, not good in teaching, but at least she has the passion. Now, she had spoils her own image, she is nothing but just merely a BITCH to me! As we expected, she is evading from the questions that we asked her. She told us not to be so calculative, it is just RM16 only. For God sake! I can't believe that these words can come out from her mouth, I really can't believe in what I heard. You are able to earn money yourself, you can spend the money in whatever way that you like, I don't care. But please don't forget, we are student, we are unemployed, we still have to rely on our parents. The money are from our parents, and where do our parents got the money? From their hard work. These money are hard earned money, and we are not going to spend it on rubbish! I couldn't imagine that you would say such word.

During the argument, she is trying to escape from the questions. Very obvious, she refused to be impossible of what she had done. She has no idea of how to give us an explanation which can cool us down, so she kept on changing topic. But, we kept on sticking to the topic. While the argument is still hot, I threw her a question. "Have you seen this book before? Before you asked us to buy it?" Guess what is her answer. She said "No." I was like "WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then I continued. "Then don't you think that it is risky to ask the students to buy something which you had never seen or use before?" Then she bla bla bla, saying what even if she knew that the book is about past year questions, she will ask the students to buy it too. Then, the class burst into dicussion again. Apparently everyone is not satisfied with her already, including me myself. She also added that the word "risky" is innapropriate and rude to teacher. Again, that word came to my mind. WTF! You are saying that I am rude? Hello? Do you know what you are talking? You are asking your student spend the money on buying something which you never seen it or use it before. And you said all of us MUST buy the books. You are using the students as experiments! You are treating us like a white mice in the laboratory whom is waiting for dissection. Now, the trouble emerged, and yet you can't provide us an proper explanation, who is rude here? You are not respecting us and I am not going to respect you also. You don't deserve it!

This situation, again, has showed me that student rights are totally discriminated in this school. Obviously it is your fault, and now it has became our fault. Teacher has the say on everything, while we, as students, have to follow what ever shit they said.

I don't mind now if the book can't be returned and the money can't be refund. But, what I am truly unhappy about is the teacher's attitude. If you are going to ask your student to buy something, please do some research before it. It is very immoral, you know?

Between, the teacher also said that if we have any unsatisfaction, you may bring it on to the school principal. I know the school very well. If you insists on fighting for student rights, the teachers might sees you as school version Osama. There is no students' rights in the school. Even a black can be said as white, if they want to.

So dark the con of my school...

Recent decision made by the Ministry of Education

I get my copy of newspaper on Thursday morning. I was sitting in the class after coming back from the canteen. The newspaper was in front of me. I look at the headline to check out what is the latest news going around in the country recently.

"WTF!" This word came out of my mouth accidentally as I read the headline. The Ministry of Education has again decided to change the language used to teach Mathematics and Science subjects. Back to 7 years ago, they have made a shocking decision that all Mathematics and Science subjects are to be taught in English. This changes is applied to both primary and secondary school. The rational behind that action, according to them, in university, Maths and Science subjects are taught in English. So if we learn Maths and Science subjects in English while we were in the primary and secondary school, it will be easier for us when we proceed to university. I was partially agree with that decision.

Why am I partially agree with that decision? Simple. In my opinion, in fact I believe would have the same feeling as mine, that primary pupils should be taught in their mother tongue for both Maths and Science subjects. It is not a problem for a secondary school students to study Maths and Science subjects in English, in my opinion.

After many had complained that the teaching of Maths and Science subjects in English for primary school is irrelevant, the Ministry had finally show us some light by reconsidering it again. And finally it is back to normal. However, one thing that I found ridiculous the most is that why they are changing the language used in secondary school as well?RIDICULOUS! NONSENSE! 7 years ago, they said it is for the sake of the students so that they can do better in the university. What about now? Plus, 7 years ago, they said it is one of the way to improve the standard of English among students. Now? Will the increase in number of English teacher helps? I don't think so. The situation now is, we have to spend another big sum of money in order to change the current education syllabus. The text book, teacher might have to attend training again. More over, they are going to increase the number of English teacher. So this means that another sum of money is going to be spent on the cost of trainings, allowance and so on. The complains is about the primary school, why disturb the secondary school? What's the point of doing so? 7 years ago, when the Ministry decided that English is to be used in the teaching of Mathematics and Science subjects, many teachers have to attend numerous trainings. How much money is spend on it? And now they are going to change it AGAIN! Please, do appreciate taxpayers' money. Those money are not earned easily.

For God sake. The standard of education is going down the slope, and now it is falling down the bottomless cliff...

World of materialism?

I used to heard people complains that they are only visible when they appear to be useful in some fields, after that, they will be back to invisible again. Yes, I heard a lot of complains about this. It is very annoying. Indeed it was. But, can you tell that you are not treating others in this way too? Better think carefully.

This is a world of materialism, and i strongly believe that no one can escape from materialism. Unforunately, some person has became over materialism. Being materialism is good. But they are being over materialism, which, is not good at all. Refer to what I said earlier, the kind of people who treats you when you appear to be useful to them, and will pretend that you are invisible when you are no longer useful to them, is in fact, very annoying and irritating as well. The most frustrating thing is that we can't make them vanish. How I wish I can. In school, there are such kinds of people around me. Lots of them. They appears to be friendly, but, they are actually wolves under lamb's skin.(direct translation from a chinese idiom) I am not refering this to anyone, but this really does happened in my school. Well, it happens at everywhere.

Take school as example. In school, we treat them as friend, but they treat us as a "friend", specifically, a device to help them achieve success. It happens to me. Very annoying and it is so fake!!! I can't scold them or tell them that what they are doing is wrong. No. It is not wrong, just it will cause unsatisfaction among they and their friends.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Hereby I would like to ask you all, whoever had read this blog post, please leave me some comment about this issue. Your willingness is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Was it necessary?

I am assure that all the citizens of Earth should have aware of the recent economy crisis that has landed throughout the world. The number of people who had lost their job has increased drastically. Losing a job, also carries the meaning of losing the source of income. How are they going to survive in this materialistic world without an income? It doesn't need to be a big sum of income, but at least it is enough for them to have their stomach filled with some food, their body covered with some clothes. However, losing a job doesn't mean that that person will lost everything. Find another job will do, regardless of the salary, at least there is an income, better than none.

7/3/2009, I have a badminton appointment with my friends. 9am-12pm. The day before it, I slept at around 12.30am, and I woke up at around 7 something. After get myself prepared, I set off to the badminton court. 12 of us, two badminton courts. Tracing back, I found that I haven't really move my body so much ever since the beginning of the CNY. Anyway, I have to admit that it is a joyful morning. After we are done with the badminton, our next activity of the day is movie watching. We are going to watch Love Matters at CS at 2.30. A movie that I awaited for a long time, and finally it is broadcast at the local cinema. Between, my head started to protest, wanting a rest. I started to feel the headache. For god sake! I am going for a movie this afternoon and you protest?! Without hesitating, I quickly head off to my house.

After a warm yet comfortable bath, I sat down in front of my computer, log in into my facebook account. Suddenly, my phone rang. A friend of mine rang me up and told me that someone broke into his house and all the cash in the house has been stolen. My jaw was dangling in the mid air as I heard it. Sounds unbelievable, but it is true. At the moment, a thought came through my mind: is that stealing is the only way of surviving in this world?

Between, he also told me some of the ridiculous things that happened when he called the police. He called up the police, report to the police of what is going on in his house, but, the response he got from the police had dumbfounded him. The police ask him to go to the police station himself to make a report then only the police will go to his house to investigate. So, my friend asked the attendant on the phone why can't they just come straight away to his house? Why he has to go to the police station to make a report then only the police can come? the police said that this is to prevent prank calls. Fine. Nothing he could do until he reach the police station. I have to admit that those prank calls are really annoying. In fact, I experienced it before. Way back to a year ago when I was duty at the hospital. When we reached the site, there was nobody! This implies how serious is the moral values of the people nowadays. But, the police shouldn't do so. They should have asked somebody of their partners to drive to the site and assist the victims. try to imagine if a victims who has suffered from a gun shot, are you expecting him to go to the police station to make a report of who shot him? Rubbish! Don't forget, part of their salary is the money that comes from the public (summons paid and taxes). They have to do their job.

I would like to say something about those who made the prank calls. They might think it is fun, and I strongly believe that they are doing so to fulfill their weird desire. Well, I suspect that they are most probably psychologically imbalance. This bunch of idiot most probably doesn't know that every prank call that they made is actually a waste of money. Please, wake up, open your eyes, look at the reality. Stop it while you can.

I had run out of idea of how to continue this article. If you had experienced any of the similar case above, please feel free to share it. Or if you have any comment, please do not hesitate to share it with us. Thanks a lot.

Teachers

I would like to dedicate this article to all the students, especially Malaysia students:

I have something to share with you all and all this is my experience. Being a secondary student for seven years, including this year, I have met many kinds of teacher. Take BTT as an example. My school used to shut the gate at 7.25am. And one day, I reach school at 7.20am(my clock shows so), plus the time taken for me to walk until the gate from the place where I parked my car, it won't take more than 3 minutes. When I reached the gate, I saw the guard shut the door. For god sake!! I quickly rush to there and ask the guard to open the door for me. Then he said it is 7.25am now, and he asked me to take the front door. SHIT!!! Without hesitating, I replied him that my watch shows 7.20am!! He seemed reluctant to open the door for me, and mind you, I am not in a good mood at that moment, so obviously he saw my redden face which looks like a volcano ready to erupt. After a while, he opened the door for me. And that BxxxH (BTT) told me not to late next time. And these following words gun out from my mouth : I'm not late. My watch shows 7.20am. Then I just walked away. That teacher shouted at me, saying that my watch is late. Ok! Enough! You said my watch is late, then can I said that your watch is faster than mine? BxxxH!!! You thought everyone in the school will have the same time as shown in your watch?!?!?! The main point is, don't just look at something from your own point of view or base on your own stand. Think of the others too.

Next, I would like to take the morning assembly as my next example and also the next point. During every morning assembly in my school, we will sing the national anthem, the state anthem and the school anthem as well. And I noticed that all the students are singing out loud, though some of them sing out of tempo(don't know they are doing it on purpose or...), but at least we sing. Ok? At the mean time, most teachers aren't singing. During the assembly, teachers always ask the students to sing it out loud, but the teachers are not singing at all. They are just standing like a statue. In my opinion, teacher, suppose to be the role model of the students, should have sing along with the students. Otherwise you don't have any convincing reason to ask people to sing. How embarrassing is this!! I know, if I said this to them, the teachers will think that I am a bad students or what. But tell you what, as a students, I strongly believe that we have our own rights and we should protect our rights as well. But, pathetically, somehow, in the school, the management of the school is something more to dictator than democracy. When the students did something wrong, they are wrong.(Indeed). If they did something wrong, they are actually right. They will also come out with a lof theories of life to turn their accidental mistake into a purposeful mistake. Of course, not all the teachers are this kind of teacher, just, some.

Other than that, I have attended quite a number of leadership training camp, and a phrase I remember the most was this:"If you want to be a leader, you have to be part of the member." Just like what is applied to the police, you want to catch the thief, you have to think like a thief. So, teachers in the school, to lead the students, their have to understand what the student is thinking, they have to know what student needs, what student wants and don't want, what student likes and dislikes. In the school, I realized that not many teacher manage to do it, in fact, most of the teacher prefer dictator style. They don't understand what student wants, need, or like. Of course, you can't just go to the students and ask them:"What you want huh?" I bet 99% will keep quiet or perhaps, say something that is rubbish. Eg. I want to eat KFC!!! (sweat)

To be honest, I have plenty to share with you all, but too bad I had forgotten some of them. So this is so much that I can share with you all. Please fell free to drop any comment if you have any and let us share our view together. Thanks. Lastly, thanks for the time spent on reading this article.
